Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already), that quite a lot of Malaysian drivers are ........... shall I call them weird or is it too tame a word to describe how these group of drivers drive? Anyway, they do at least one if not most or all of the following :
1) run the red light (what's the hurry, ha? Your maker waiting for you ah?)
2) do not stop at the junction with a "Stop" sign and some even honk at those in front who did what they are supposed to do ie Stop (don't understand or refuse to understand the meaning of the word "Stop"???)
3) ignore the "Beri Laluan" sign and expect others to "beri laluan" to them instead (a case of ....erm.... misunderstanding?)
4) cut queue at the traffic lights (cannot wait, ah?)
5) change lanes suddenly without signalling (Oi, other people can read your minds, meh?)
6) stop their vehicles right in the middle of the road and pretend that the vehicles behind them are invisible (Ei, your grandfather's road ah?)
7) haphazardly park their vehicle and ended up hogging 2 parking bays instead 1 (Yo, don't be greedy lah)
8) double and triple park and therefore preventing the other vehicles who are legally parked in the designated parking bays from leaving (Aiyoh, big shot meh?)
9) ignore the zebra crossing and pretend that there is nobody trying to cross the road using the zebra crossing (don't know what the zebra crossing is for, izit?)
Anything else that I missed?

- As I have more photos of food than I care to count, I thought why not I share my humble findings with anyone who stumbles upon this blog. Nothing fancy.....cannot afford it lah.....not with my kind of salary....sigh (hinting to my boss). Sorry about the not so professional looking photos. Cannot afford to get a better camera yet (another hint). I also like to browse online shopping sites for the fun of it. Quite interesting, you know. But.......real shopping (you know... drive to a shopping complex, fight for a parking space and jostle with the other shoppers inside the complex) is not my cup of tea, heh, heh. So....I just might add some more online shopping site links here (those that I think are interesting lah....you know..not those common ones). So, if you are like me, do keep an eye on the shopping column on your right, eh? I also like to think about and dissect quotes of famous and ordinary people. Aaand....I also like to ramble about things and people I observed everyday. By the way, anyone of you want a pet? Have a look at the sidebar (Please Help Them). These adorable animals are waiting for a loving person to adopt them. Buuut....remember, a pet is forever. No abuse.

Observations Of A Food Blob (13)
Do you know (if you didn't already) that Festival Walk, Ipoh holds a weekend night market every Friday to Sunday from 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm? You can actually find some interesting handmade handicraft from the arts and crafts stalls there. There are other stalls selling other stuff too but apparently Festival Walk is giving priority to arts and crafts because arts and crafts stalls get their place at the night market for free. Yup, no need to pay rental. Just pay a deposit upon registration and you have your very own stall at the night market. It seems the management wants to make Festival Walk the place to go to if you are looking for arts and crafts items. Hmmmm......a step in the right direction in promoting Ipoh's talented artsy people, no? What say you?

Observations Of A Food Blob (12)
Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already) that our problems seem small compared to the following :
1) victims of abuse (and I mean abuses of all kinds)
2) victims of human trafficking
3) victims of poverty
4) victims of war
5) victims of any other unfortunate circumstances that anyone can think of
Shouldn't we be very thankful for the fact that we are not one of the above? Shouldn't we stop grumbling and whining when faced with whatever problems and instead face them squarely and get on with life? Shouldn't we also try to do something (however small) to help the above?

Observations Of A Food Blob (11)
Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already), that whenever there is a marathon or walkathon or cross country run or some other event that requires the participants to be either walking or running or whatever on the road, the roads along the route are not closed to traffic? Isn't this dangerous not only to the participants but also to the other road users? Accidents.......and fights........ can happen, you know. What's even worse is, some event organisers do not even engage the help of traffic police. Participants are left to do their own thing along the route.........meaning they will take up the whole width of the road with scant regards to vehicles coming and going on the road. They seem to think they owned the road during the event. Don't they value their life and limbs? Why are the event organisers so irresponsible?

Observations Of a Food Blob (10)
How many of us can actually say "I can live without my mobile phone for one week"? From what I see, a lot of us are very attached to our mobile phones / tablets / whatever else is out there. I am very out when it comes to this kind of gadgets, ok. Observe a family having dinner in a restaurant............each member would have his/her eyes glued to whatever gadget he/she has in his/her hand instead of talking to each other.........very quiet, the table..........too quiet. No communication at all. Or are they texting / emailing each other??? Where's the togetherness you get when you are with your family?
My mobile phone is only for emergency use. I hardly ever make calls on it.........maybe once in 3 weeks or more. If it is not for work commitments, I would actually prefer not to own a mobile phone. Even then, most of the time, I would switch off my phone the moment I finish work. I prefer to remain unreachable after office hours. I have a life besides work, you know. Whatever is so important that the office has to "kacau" my personal time can wait until the next day when I turn up at the office. So, the thing I really cannot wrap my head around is, what's the big deal about remaining connected to the world 24 hours a day????????

Observations Of a Food Blob (9)
AES.....hmmmm.......lots of questions being asked but.......no clear answers being given. Why so vague???? For example :
1) What will happen if I run a red light because I want to make way for the ambulance/fire engine/police with sirens blaring behind me? How do I prove my innocence in cases like this?
2) What will happen when the moment I cross the line, the light turns orange and there is no way I can get across in 2 seconds? 2 seconds is very short only, you know. 1 2 This is how long 2 seconds is lah.
3) What should I do when I am approaching a set of traffic lights and the light is green? a) Do I slow down to a crawl even though the light is still green? b) Do I step on the accelerator in the hope that I can make it before the lights change? c) Do I go at the normal speed and hit the brakes the moment the light turns orange when I reach the line and risk getting hit by the vehicle behind me?
What's so difficult with installing a countdown timer at the traffic lights together with the AES, hah? They don't have countdown timer with the AES in Europe, so we also follow woh. Well then, why don't we follow Europe and change our weather to four seasons too? Everything also want to follow. From what I've witnessed so far, now there are a lot more close shaves and actual rear ending when the driver of the car in front hit the brakes because the lights suddenly change. These are not considered as accidents, ............?????? Installing a countdown timer with the AES would reduce this kind of incidences, no.
Somebody, please answer me........pleeeease. I fully support the AES at traffic light junctions if it works together with the countdown timer because it would more effective in preventing the kind of close shaves and rear ending that is happening more frequently these days. And...........I fully support the AES along highways and trunk roads if they can prevent speed maniacs from treating the public roads as race tracks. Why can't somebody listen to what others have to say, hah? Orrr........hmmmmm.........

Observations Of A Food Blob (8)
Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already) that lately, some of our very learned judges have been spouting rubbish when it comes to statutory rape. Statutory rape is statutory rape with or without consent, big age gap or not. Yikes...........do our learned judges concerned even understand the term statutory rape, double yikes!! The perpetrators are young and are supposed to have a bright future, you know. Indeed????? Huh!!! A rapist does not deserve a future, bright or otherwise. Public interest, some more lah......... Did I miss something here? What public interest when the very public is outraged??? I wonder if the judges who presided over the two statutory rape cases that has been causing such an uproar amongst the public would want their under age daughters, granddaughters, sisters, nieces or female cousins to have sex at such a young age. Ha??? Hmmmm....... Errrrr........ Erm......

Observations Of A Food Blob (7)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already) why ordinary folks are always forced to wait for their turn for whatever while those privileged folks can just swan over to the front of the queue? Does this mean ordinary folks are not important? And why are these privileged folks allowed to jump queue in the first place? Would I do the same thing - allow queue jumping, I mean? No, I won't. I once told off a Puan Sri for trying to use her title to jump queue and showed her my badge so that she can make a complaint to my manager if she wanted to. I also pointed her to the direction of the management office in case she got lost or something. So, no, I don't allow queue jumping from anyone. Btw, that Puan Sri didn't lodge any complaints, in case you are wondering.

Observations Of a Food Blob (6)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already), how some people can bring themselves to abuse defenceless children and animals and bully those who are perceived to be weaker than them? What is wrong with these people? Don't tell me it is due to stress or some other nonsense. I know a lot of people who are very stressed out or are carrying a heavy burden on their shoulders and yet they don't go around abusing children and animals and bullying those who are weaker than them. In fact, these people even go out of their way to help those who are less fortunate than them. Why don't those abusers and bullies go and pick on someone their own size? Cowards. I think the most suitable punishment for those who do these kind of despicable things is to do to them what they did to their victims. Agree with me?

Observations Of A Food Blob (5)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already), in this world gone mad, what safety precautions we can take to make it safer for ourselves and our loved ones? Well, here are some which hopefully can help :
1) Walk facing the oncoming traffic to minimise the risk of being caught unawares by snatch thieves. If you have to carry a bag or something, carry it on the side away from the traffic.
2) Be unpredictable. Do alter your daily routine so that whoever is observing your daily activities would not be able to predict your next move. Do not always use the same route to and from your work place so that you would not get "ambushed" on your way to and from work.
3) Try not to show clear and obvious signs that there is no one at home. Maybe you can leave the radio or television on if you are going out for a few hours or unplug the phone to make it look like someone is home chatting over the phone. If you are going to be away for a few days, try to arrange with your neighbour to collect your mail or newpapers. Heck, give them permission to hang their washings over at your front porch if they want to when you are away.
4) Arrange a set of special codes with your children so that when you call them up on their mobile phones, you will know their actual situation. Eg. : if your child says "I am fine" it means "I am in danger" or if your child says "I am coming home now" it means "I am alright".
5) Never ever leave your car keys inside the car unattended with the engine running and with your child in it. You may think it is only for a minute or two while you nip inside the store but a minute or two is all it takes for somebody to drive away your car with your child and your other belongings.
6) Always have your eyes on your child when you go out shopping or something. As far as possible, keep a firm grip on your child so that child snatchers would think twice about abducting your child.
7) If you are involved in a fender bender, do not stop and get out from your car (especially if you are a female). Instead, drive straight to the nearest police station and sort things out there.

Observations Of A Food Blob (4)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already), why some people insist on stopping their vehicle inside the yellow box and thereby messing up the already choked traffic flow? What difference does it make if they stop their vehicle outside the yellow box rather than inside it? Will stopping inside the yellow box enable them to reach their destination faster? Is this what is called 'kiasu'? I call it extremely inconsiderate, very rude and plain selfish on the part of the person doing it. Orrrr......perhaps they don't have anything between their ears????

Observations Of A Food Blob (3)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already), why some people like to jump queue whether it is on the road or at a service counter, etc? What's the hurry here, huh? Who gave them the right to just cut in, in front of other people who have been patiently waiting in the queue? These kind of people always makes me see red. So, I was extremely happy one day to see a traffic queue jumper came face to face with the law, heh. This queue jumper was driving on the wrong side of the road to get to the front of a long line of cars waiting at the traffic light and who should be coming in the opposite direction on that side of the road? The traffic police. Yes, caught in the act of breaking the law, hah. Padan muka.

Observations Of A Food Blob (2)
Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already), with news of young children going missing while playing outside or whatever popping up every now and then, you will still see young children out running around on their own without an adult in sight to keep a protective eye on them? I will never, not even if I live 9,999 lives, understand why some parents still think it is safe for their young children to play outside their homes or in public places unsupervised or worse run errands for their parents alone without an adult by their side. Just go to any shopping centre and you can see small kids running around unsupervised while their parents are busy looking at the shelves. A child snatcher doesn't need much time to abduct a small defenseless child - only a few seconds................... and the parents will have to live with a lifelong regret and heartache. Why can't some parents get it into their heads that times have changed aaaand human kind has changed...........for the worse?????? Is that ''tidak apa" attitude worth it, hah?

Observations Of A Food Blob (1)
Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already), that a lot of people are very attached to their mobile / smart phones or tablets or whatever communication gadgets you have nowadays. These people and their gadgets are practically siamese twins, if you know what I am getting at. They cannot stop fiddling with their gadgets, not even while waiting for the cashier at the supermarket check out counter to finish scanning and packing their purchases. Call me old or call me odd, but I cannot for the life of me see what is so interesting that they cannot bear to look away from their gadget for a teeny weeny moment. As for me, my smart phone stays in my pocket more than in my hand. I only play with it when there is nothing else that requires my attention. What say you?
