About Me

My photo
As I have more photos of food than I care to count, I thought why not I share my humble findings with anyone who stumbles upon this blog. Nothing fancy.....cannot afford it lah.....not with my kind of salary....sigh (hinting to my boss). Sorry about the not so professional looking photos. Cannot afford to get a better camera yet (another hint). I also like to browse online shopping sites for the fun of it. Quite interesting, you know. But.......real shopping (you know... drive to a shopping complex, fight for a parking space and jostle with the other shoppers inside the complex) is not my cup of tea, heh, heh. So....I just might add some more online shopping site links here (those that I think are interesting lah....you know..not those common ones). So, if you are like me, do keep an eye on the shopping column on your right, eh? I also like to think about and dissect quotes of famous and ordinary people. Aaand....I also like to ramble about things and people I observed everyday. By the way, anyone of you want a pet? Have a look at the sidebar (Please Help Them). These adorable animals are waiting for a loving person to adopt them. Buuut....remember, a pet is forever. No abuse.

Observations Of A Food Blob (8)

Have you ever noticed (if you haven't already) that lately, some of our very learned judges have been spouting rubbish when it comes to statutory rape. Statutory rape is statutory rape with or without consent, big age gap or not. Yikes...........do our learned judges concerned even understand the term statutory rape, double yikes!! The perpetrators are young and are supposed to have a bright future, you know. Indeed????? Huh!!! A rapist does not deserve a future, bright or otherwise. Public interest, some more lah......... Did I miss something here? What public interest when the very public is outraged??? I wonder if the judges who presided over the two statutory rape cases that has been causing such an uproar amongst the public would want their under age daughters, granddaughters, sisters, nieces or female cousins to have sex at such a young age. Ha??? Hmmmm....... Errrrr........ Erm......

Kedai Kopi Dong Long, Ipoh

Having read in the newspaper of this place in Ipoh old town, we headed out to look for it one Sunday. Found it quite easily. We ordered some yong tau foo (apparently, these are homemade), a dry and also soup version of fresh water prawn curry noodles, a dry curry noodle plus a chicken slice curry noodle. Erm.....all the curry noodles tasted the same to us. The only difference among them are the accompaniments. Same goes for the dry versions. Taste wise, let's just say, we've tasted better ones elsewhere. As for the yong tau foo.....well.....we don't quite like it. The stuffing is too bland and soft for us. No more repeats for us as far as this place is concerned. But you can try and judge for yourself lor. As the saying goes.......one man's meat is another man's poison, heh.

Restoran Moon De Moon, Ipoh

Having heard of this coffee shop somewhere in Taman Mirindy, we decided to check it out one Saturday. Not many stalls there. Only the curry noodles stall together with a fried noodles stall. Dad ordered the fried noodles 'kap tai' although it didn't look like 'kap tai' to us. Only a few small prawns with a few pieces of fish cake. Dad said it didn't taste good. Mum didn't like her order of dried curry noodles too. Too gluey, she said. My order of chicken koay teow soup was disappointing too. Looked like chicken koay teow soup but didn't taste like it. Not going back to this place again. But....you don't have to agree with us lah.
Restoran Moon De Moon is located at the corner of Selasar Tebing Kinta 5 and Hala Wah Keong in Taman Mirindy near Kampung Simee, Ipoh.

Psst....sorry about the quality of the photos. Took them with the camera of my little handphone.

Looks can be deceiving, no?

Too starchy

Doesn't look like 'kap tai' to us

Spasso Milano, Kuala Lumpur

As we were feeling peckish while nosing around Pavillion in Kuala Lumpur, we hopped into Spasso Milano for their antipasti buffet lunch. Ooooh.....the roast pork is goody goody. So is their roast chicken. The garlic bread is not bad either. Same goes for the saltcake and vegetable frittata. Mum said the pumpkin soup is yum yum while sis gave the thums up for the asparagus soup. Actually all the antipasti offered are good but it is the desserts which are to die for. The cakes are creamy, fluffy and best of all................not too sweet. The different flavoured ice creams too are worth a few helpings. Makes me salivate just thinking about the desserts and I don't have a sweet tooth......not a single one, no siree.
Spasso Milano is located at Level 6 of Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur.

A Message

To Datuk Lee Chong Wei :

Whether you won the gold medal or not is not important. What you managed to do was even more priceless than the gold medal. You managed to bring all Malaysians together irrespective of race and religion to cheer for you as a representative of Malaysia. Two thumbs up to you. Well done.

(FYI: I am not a fan. Just a casual observer who is not even interested in badminton.)

A Suggestion

Punishment for the Somali and friends who threw the little dog down the manhole and this includes the one who recorded the whole episode (whether the little dog is still alive as claimed.........or not is irrelevant) :
As the saying goes : Do unto others what you want others to do unto you. So, do unto them what they did unto the little dog. Throw them down the manhole too and leave them there for a week. After that kick them back to where they come from and blacklist them so that they can never ever step foot onto Malaysian soil again.
I absolutely detest animal and child abusers. Makes me want to go after them and deal with them............. my way.

Observations Of A Food Blob (7)

Have you ever wondered (if you haven't already) why ordinary folks are always forced to wait for their turn for whatever while those privileged folks can just swan over to the front of the queue? Does this mean ordinary folks are not important? And why are these privileged folks allowed to jump queue in the first place? Would I do the same thing - allow queue jumping, I mean? No, I won't. I once told off a Puan Sri for trying to use her title to jump queue and showed her my badge so that she can make a complaint to my manager if she wanted to. I also pointed her to the direction of the management office in case she got lost or something. So, no, I don't allow queue jumping from anyone. Btw, that Puan Sri didn't lodge any complaints, in case you are wondering.
